Matters of The Heart

The heart is forever inexperienced. - Thoreau

I saw this quote in a tweet about a week ago, and it's stumped me ever since, basically because I disagree with it. Then again, I don't know the context of the quote, which I have been searching for.

I'll look harder; explicitly as well as internally.

I know you haven't researched the context, but just at first glance I get a few things. There are always new ways to love, new ways to learn, new ways we'll feel pain, new ways our heart will get us through struggles. Even if we are with the same person for years, deal with the same children forever, given one family for the rest of our lives, life brings new experiences for the heart to find its way through in each circumstance. Just a thought ;)

There is always a type love that we will never feel and a type of pain that we will never get to experience…
